When you right click on My Computer and choose Properties, your PC's System Properties are displayed.

  • Oeminfo.bmp and Oeminfo.txt are two files that you can edit to customize what information your system properties will display. These files both need to be located in your system directory, typically C:\Winnt\System32 for Windows 2000 or NT, or C:\Windows\System32 for Windows XP.

  • If your computer came from a specific vendor such as Dell or Gateway, these files may already exist and contain information like support telephone #s. If the files do exist, you will be prompted before they are overwritten.

  • Download the self extracting zip file:

  • Windows NT (2000, NT4, or XP) - oeminfo-lsu2008.exe

If you aren't comfortable running a .exe file, you can rename a zipped .exe file to .zip.

  • If you are using Windows 2000 or NT, change the default unzip location to C:\Winnt\System32 instead of C:\Windows\System32

  • With these copies of oeminfo.ini and oemlogo.bmp in your system directory:
